BILINGUAL PROFICIENCY FRAMEWORK

The Repository is a computerized table that allows the public to have access to relevant information for each occupation, including:

  • The definition of bilingual proficiency for each of the levels;
  • The definition of the profession and the description of tasks for each of the professions;
  • Examples of performance including audio recordings of exemplars for each level of each profession.

Levels - Bilingual Proficiency A, B, C:

  • Level A : Understands and communicates overall meaning or intent, main ideas, supporting details and implied meaning, using adequate structures in predictable, practical and relevant social, educational and work-related situations.

  • Level B : Understands, compares, interprets and communicates discourses on concrete and sometimes abstract topics relevant to social, educational, and work-related situations.

  • Level C : Understands, compares, integrates, analyzes and provides discourses on concrete and abstract topics (technical matter); taking into account the feelings and emotions of the author/speaker and the audience.
